Re: Vintage Black & Decker valve grinder. A word of caution on these old valve grinders. The accuracy of these machines depends in large part upon the mechanism which holds the valve stem. Old machines hold the stem in what is basically a drill chuck. Newer machines hold the stem in a collet.

Seller is asking $1000, I think I may get it for less. It is missing the stone dresser tool for the valve refacer stone. Otherwise it is complete and functional including pump.

This Black & Decker Valvemaster Refacer is able to reface accurately the valve face, the end of the valve stem and the contact face of the rocker. It is a very heavy and robust machine for what it does, and in my opinion somewhat over engineered, but as with all these old machines it would not have survived otherwise.
